Toy Story 3 has brought Ken back and in a big way! If you haven’t seen Toy Story 3 yet, its a MUST for all toy lovers, children and anyone who has ever owned a Ken or Barbie! Ken’s leading role in the film has bought him renewed fame, and in his 50th year he is set for big things!
He is so popular at the moment Mattel has launched the eight-part series “Genuine Ken: The Search for the Great American Boyfriend”
Eight contestants faced a series of boyfriend challenges, such as cooking, decorating, entertaining and surfing. A 25 year old, from Iowa State was crowned the model for the new Ken, winning one over his rivals in the ‘romantic’ category.
To find such a man Mattel turned to the best source in this day and age, the internet, using social networks such as Twitter and Facebook. This is a resource which Mattel has embraced.
